I'm a big lover of decorating. It's my favourite part of living somewhere new, personalising everything and making it pretty. But believe it or not, this doesn't have to break you bank. I'm really tight when it comes to spending and shopping, so I've learnt a lot of ways, places and objects that can add a wonderful little touch to your space without costing you your wages. Here's a few of my bargain bedroom decorations:

Homemade Dreamcatchers

Dreamcatchers are so quick and easy to make, and the equipment is less than half the price of a ready made one! You can even just use materials you find around your house and outside. You can personalise and make them however you like. They're perfect to add to some detail to your walls!

Plastic Vines

These vines are a great way to add some colour to your walls. I have about 5 of these hanging over various parts of my room. They're perfect if you want that touch of nature but can't commit to plants! They're available in a lot of homeware stores and also eBay. They only cost around £2 depending on the length. They can also be used as a quirky form of storage by using as a rail.

Decorative Candles

on them, it's a really fun little hobby, and the best part is that if you go wrong all you need to do is scratch off the wax! Depending on what type you get, plain candle sets go for bout £10 and you'll get a lot of use and all kinds of doodles out of each of them. Candles are a really good desk, fireplace and windowsill filler. They come in all sorts of different shapes and designs. My personal favourites are these pretty little things filled with types of flowers and sticks. Another thing I love to do is buy large plain candles and draw designs

Healing Crystals

Whether you're a person who believes in the nature of crystal healing or not - They are a wonderful way to brighten your room. You can choose from a range of shapes and colours or their real individual meanings. They range in prices depending on their sizes, from £1 to around £10, I'm not sure where that can be bought apart from flea markets and actual crystals shops, but I'm sure they're also available online.

Plants ( & Pots )

s also great to learn new things about all the different types of plants you own and be able to care for them. A bonus to being plant owner, is finding all kinds of different things to store them in - Anything from jars to candle holders. My personal favourite is this large vintage jar I picked up for £1.50. Anything you can find that will provide the right amount of space, oxygen and light is great. Plants are my favourite form of decoration, because not only are they all completely unique, but it'

Postcards

If like me, you don't have access to a printer or don't particularly like to have your own photos on your walls, then postcards are a great soloution! I like to find postcards with inspirational quotes and beautiful places on them. This is a great little touch anywhere in your room. You can frame them, hang them and stick them so there's always a new way to show them off. They're only about 50p!

Maps

Maps are a great wall space filler. There's so may different designs and ways to decorate them! I've used mine to pin point where I've been - I also use it to plan my trips and routes for my travels. They're perfect for those vagabond feels! Prices are varied due to the sizes but can be found for as little as £5!

Fairy Lights

Fairy lights are extremely popular when it comes to decorating, and for good reason. They come in all different styles and colours to perfectly fit in with any room. They can be hung, wrapped and stuck to just about anything! There's also some amazing little tricks you can use to make them look even more unique, like wrapping them together and placing them inside a jar (battery powered only) and they create a really quriky tea-light look!

So these are just a few little quirky bargains to bare in mind next time you're looking for decor. I will definitely be doing some more posts like this. From decorating your workspace and other fun homemade items.

Namaste, Brooke x
